We explain below how Backpacker Apply processes personal information when you visit the website, sign in or use member tools. The service is independently operated from Indonesia. This notice covers the service itself; Polar, Google and Cloudflare also publish their own privacy terms.
1. What we may collect
- Google account identifiers, email address, display name and sign-in details.
- CVs and application content, search preferences, chosen job sectors, employer/application histories, follow-ups and contract-end dates that you provide or create.
- Membership identifiers, subscription state and paid-through dates. We do not receive or store full payment-card details from Polar.
- Technical and security information required to operate the website, such as request metadata and error logs.
- Optional in-product activity metrics only where you have opted in to that optional analytics feature.
2. Why we use it
We process information to authenticate your account, provide requested tools, manage access and subscriptions, protect the service, comply with legal duties, answer support requests and improve the experience where you have consented. Where relevant, the legal grounds include providing the service you request, compliance with law, legitimate security interests, and consent for optional analytics.
3. Google account and outbound emails
Google authentication helps link access to your account. If you authorise Gmail-related sending, your chosen information and messages may be transmitted to recipients through Google's services. Your email permissions and authorisations remain subject to Google's controls. You are responsible for recipient selection and the contents and legal basis of outbound communications.
4. Service providers and international transfers
Cloudflare supplies infrastructure and databases; Google supplies authentication and email-related integrations; Polar handles checkout, receipts, invoicing and payment processing. These providers may process information outside Indonesia or your home country. Transfers must be protected in accordance with applicable data protection law and relevant provider agreements.
5. Security and retention
We use access controls and technical safeguards designed to reduce unauthorised access. No service is completely risk-free. We retain data while needed to provide your account and member tools, resolve complaints, maintain security and satisfy applicable legal obligations. Retention and deletion may depend on the category of information and statutory requirements; we do not claim that all backups are erased instantly.
6. Cookies and optional analytics
Essential session and security mechanisms may be used for authentication and reliable service. Optional in-app activity tracking is controlled through a separate member preference. We do not describe optional tracking as consented merely because you visit the site. Third-party login and checkout pages have their own cookie policies.
7. Your choices and rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, correction, export or deletion of personal data, object to certain processing, withdraw optional consent and make a privacy complaint. Withdrawal does not undo processing already lawfully performed and may limit features that require the information. To request assistance, email backpackerapply.support@gmail.com from your account email address. We may need to verify your identity before acting.
8. Minors, changes and contact
